Pack Mule Forge

Software Engineering for an AI-Enabled Future

Pack Mule Forge is where I apply 40 years of software industry experience to the evolving world of AI-assisted engineering.

I'm exploring new ways to build software, improve the development process, and revisit existing applications with modern tools and techniques. Some projects begin with a practical problem to solve; others explore how AI is changing the relationship between requirements, architecture, design, and implementation.

The common thread is a systems-engineering perspective: understanding the problem, preserving the intent behind the solution, and finding better ways to turn ideas into working software.

Current Projects

CarFinder

A mobile application that remembers where you parked and guides you back to your car.

The Android MVP has been completed using GitHub Spec-Kit and a Spec-Driven Development (SDD) process. The project provided a practical opportunity to evaluate AI-generated implementation, validation, and requirements analysis.

MVP complete; production development planned

SDD Agent

An exploration of how to extend Spec-Driven Development as software projects become more complex.

Building CarFinder exposed opportunities to improve requirements traceability, hierarchical validation, and the management of changes that could affect application intent. SDD Agent is an effort to address those challenges and investigate how AI can become a more effective participant in the engineering process.

Project Watch

A time-tracking application I developed for my own consulting work, used to record time spent across contracts. Its user-interface-heavy design makes it a candidate for reimplementation using Flutter.
